We are back to school and back on the blog (kind of).
I took the summer to spend as much time with Laila as possible before she starts school full time, and then also, my computer broke, which kept me fully offline when it came to my blog. After a lot of work and patience, my amazing uncle was able to piece it back together! My 2012 Mac is still kicking, even if slow, out of memory, and finicky. But my motherboard is working, I have a new battery and charging port, and I can now get back to over-researching, writing, and sharing our favorite family, individual, child, and parenting items/hacks.
Summer was such a blast exploring all the toddler friendly activities in Denver. We only got a few done too. Between a trip back to Florida, her birthday party, a daddy daughter trip to Chicago, multiple day trips to Boulder, and a visit from Sabba, and nearly daily swimming time, we had a fully packed summer. And if still didn't feel long enough. I am for sure in denial that fall is moving in.
While I am sure we can almost all relate to liking the breaking of the heat waves, I personally will take the heat over those bitter cold and gloomy winter days. But that is coming from someone who lives in a milder state.
Really, I am just avoiding the idea of Laila starting school full time. Yes, this is a choice we made and I could chose not to; However, after a lot of family talking, we realized how much so absolutely loves being at school. From the moment she could say her friends names, she started asking for them every day she wasn't at school. She is for sure her father's daughter when it comes to her social life.
Any other parent's out there feel this struggle in their heart?! Well, I am sure we will have plenty of snuggles days at home together once the preschool sickies kick in and we all need time and space to get better.
I do find it a little exciting though putting her pre-school/daycare bin together. It is a lot easier then getting her ready for actual classes with all the binders and labels. Or, is everything on tablets at this point for older kids?
For Laila, she needs a school bin with some extra clothing, diapers, wipes, nap items, and some general classroom items. For extra clothing, I buy the multi-pack of honest cotton t-shirts and extra leggings. Those seem the easiest to rotate through. I label everything with the iron on name bubbles that are just the cutest. Her water bottles a lunch boxes have the sticker name tags.
My favorite lunch box is currently the pack-it because of the built in ice pack. It helps the whole lunch box stay cold longer. I just wish it was a little bit bigger. We have two just incase one gets left behind.
Her backpack that I got last year at bloomingdale's is a stoney clover. It is truly adorable. Unfortunately, I can't find the same pattern though so it must be discontinued.
Here are some of our favorites when it comes to school items.
