I learnt the hard way that there are clothes designated for school and clothes for non-school activities. Laila loves to play with mud, paint, and makers and not all kids crafts are created equal even when it says “washable.” Generally, that means having a few outfits that are inexpensive. I want Laila to be able to just have fun and for me not to be upset if something gets ruined. I have given too many hours to trying to get stains out of her school clothes.
For tot Shabbat, sometimes I’ll send her with something a little nicer. She always wants to dress up for it, so I’m not going to say no. Everything for school is labeled, making it easier to know what she can and can’t choose from, but I think it’s most helpful for daddy. I like to use the name bubbles iron ons.
