Our Favorite Toddler (1 Year) Items

While we officially have a two year old and we've added a few activities and toys to her playroom, she still primarily uses what we got her when she was one. As soon as she turned one, she started running around like there was an endless limit to her energy. That meant we wanted to primarily find things that would keep her little body moving.

We set up her playroom in the spare sitting room with lots of climbing options. The Lilly and River play set has been great. She loved learning how to climb and slide down the different setups. We also have a foam ball pit set up and recently added an Avenelur slide.

As her play set expanded, she got a House of Noa play mat. I really like that we can customize the shape and size based on our room. We got the 10x12 but out room was more of an 8x14, so we just rearranged the mats accordingly. I also feel better that there is a soft landing pad under her.

As she reached a year and a half, Laila has been starting to look at books more and engage with her stuffed animals a lot. That led me to creating a little reading corner for her. I was waiting probably for a year for the Dock a Tot Brer Rabbit Futon to come back in stock and was so excited when it did. It fits perfectly in her indoor playhouse. Our specific playhouse is sold out again (I waited a few months for it) so I linked a similar one.

I almost forgot, but something she has used every single day. Really! Every. Single. Day. She screams for her "big jumpy." That's her smol bouncehouse that we have in the basement. We had to put a top lock on the basement door so that she won't go down without supervision. She also has the smallest version in our living room, which she uses multiple times a day. But every night, we go down to big jumpy to get the pre-bedtime wiggles out. We love having these indoors because in the winter especially it is a great activity.

All of these active toys have kept her engaged the most because she likes to climb and be on the move. Of course though we also have collected a few other toys that have helped to build hand and eye coordination skills as well as help her learn to sit still. These are some of her favorites.
