White is a perfect color to go with everything. It brightens up a palate and gives a whimsical look. A white coat provides a modern chic look along while exuding confidence. I don't often see white coats because of the fear of it getting dirty, but when I do, I imagine the woman who is wearing it as a strong individual who knows what she wants and trusts herself.
I purchased this adorable Ted Baker coat at the Chicago outlet last fall. I almost aways stop in when we go to visit my husband's family. I go for Ted Baker and Cody goes for Lululemon. Instantly I knew that the coat was mine when I saw it. I had been wanting a winter coat from Ted Baker for some time and had a few different ones on my wish list. But the white color, scalloped details, style, and pink buttons won me over. At first I was slightly, and I really mean just slightly, hesitant about the color, but when Cody saw me trying it on he noticed my beaming smile and said that it was perfect for me.
Each time I wear the coat it is for something special or a date. It could be for a nice dinner, fundraiser, or performance. Saving it for those moments makes me feel excited for the event ahead. It's funny how clothing has so much power in impacting our mood. That is probably one of the reasons that I really like the white color for a winter coat. I find winter to be gloomy because the sun sets so early and the white seems to brighten my day.
If there is anything to learn from our early September snowfall in Denver, it is never to early to invest in a nice coat that will last you for a long time and across seasons.
